There are two billing models. Hour packs are a one-time purchase that never expires — buy a pack of minutes, they stack onto your balance, and they stay there until you use them. Subscriptions are recurring (weekly, monthly, or yearly) and include a fixed block of minutes that resets at the start of each billing cycle; unused minutes don't roll over, and once you exceed the included minutes you keep recording with per-minute overage billing.
Each recorded minute deducts one minute from your available balance, rounded up at session end. A subscription's included minutes are spent first; hour-pack minutes (which never expire) are used as your reserve. Translation and AI chat are included in that minute.
Current prices for hour packs and subscription tiers are shown at /app/billing — that's always the source of truth, so check there rather than relying on numbers in this article.
If your available balance hits zero mid-session, recording pauses with a prompt. Previously recorded sessions on your Mac remain fully accessible — replay, export, notes all still work.
