Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of UniTrans — the desktop app, the website, and the web dashboard. By signing up or downloading the app, you agree to them. Please read them.
1. Acceptance
By creating an account, downloading the UniTrans desktop application, or using any feature that requires sign-in, you enter into a binding agreement with Shanghai Logical Origin Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd (上海逻辑原点智能科技有限公司). If you don't agree, don't use the service.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to use UniTrans. If your jurisdiction requires a higher age for independent online contracts, that age applies to you.
- One person per account. You are responsible for keeping your password secret.
- You're responsible for all activity on your account. Notify us immediately at support@uniflowtrans.com if you suspect unauthorized use.
- Providing false information (e.g., a fake email) may result in suspension.
3. Plans, pricing, and billing
Membership and minute packs
UniTrans offers two ways to pay, which you can use separately or together. (1) A membership, billed monthly ($35 / month) or yearly ($339.99 / year), gives you 100 minutes of transcription every day; the daily allowance resets at 00:00 Beijing time (UTC+8) and does not roll over to the next day. (2) One-time minute packs — 100, 300, 600, or 1,500 minutes — are permanent: they never expire and stack on top of your membership allowance.
How minutes are consumed
When you transcribe, your membership daily allowance is used first; once that is used up for the day, minutes are drawn from your permanent packs. When both are exhausted, recording stops and we prompt you to top up — we never automatically charge you beyond what you have already purchased.
Metering
Each 60 seconds of recorded audio consumes one minute, rounded up at the end of a session. Silence counts. Real-time translation is bundled and costs no extra minutes. AI chat is included.
Free minutes
New accounts receive 30 minutes of transcription at sign-up, at no cost. These go into your permanent pack balance and never expire.
Payments
On iPhone and iPad, purchases are made through Apple In-App Purchase and are governed by Apple's terms and pricing. On the web and desktop apps, payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited, which acts as our Merchant of Record; prices are shown in USD and any applicable sales tax or VAT is calculated at checkout based on your billing address. The charge on your statement will reference Paddle.
Subscriptions and cross-platform billing
A membership is auto-renewable. Where you subscribe determines who bills you and where you manage it. If you subscribe on iPhone or iPad, Apple bills you and the subscription auto-renews through your Apple Account; manage or cancel it under iOS Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions, where cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. If you subscribe on the web, Paddle bills the card you provide, and you can cancel at any time from your account billing page or the management link in your Paddle receipt; cancellation stops future renewals and your membership stays active until the end of the paid period. To move billing from Apple to the web, first cancel in your Apple Account settings, then subscribe again on the web — a membership is billed by only one platform at a time.
Refunds
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on web and desktop purchases: if you are not satisfied for any reason, contact us within 14 days of purchase for a full refund. These purchases are handled by Paddle.com Market Limited in accordance with Paddle's Refund Policy and our Refund Policy at uniflowtrans.com/refund. Purchases made through Apple In-App Purchase are refunded by Apple under Apple's policies — request those at reportaproblem.apple.com. See uniflowtrans.com/refund for full details.
4. Acceptable use
You may not use UniTrans to:
- Record any person without their consent, or in violation of local recording laws
- Record legally privileged conversations you're not entitled to (e.g., attorney-client meetings you're not part of)
- Transcribe content you don't have the right to transcribe (pirated audio, copyrighted works without a license)
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent a transcript as their verbatim speech when it isn't
- Attempt to reverse-engineer the desktop app, extract our API keys, or bypass rate limits
- Resell access to the service without a written reseller agreement
Violations may result in suspension or termination and — for serious cases — referral to law enforcement.
5. Your content and intellectual property
You own what you record
The audio, transcripts, translations, and notes generated by your use of UniTrans belong to you. We claim no ownership.
License to operate the service
You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process your transcripts (not audio) through our translation and AI chat functions, solely to provide the service you requested. This license terminates when you delete the content.
Our IP
The UniTrans name, logo, and source code are our property. You may use the app as licensed; you may not copy the brand or redistribute the app binary.
6. Service availability
We aim for 99.5% uptime on the transcription pipeline. Scheduled maintenance is announced in advance. Unplanned outages happen; we restore service as fast as we can and post status at status.uniflowtrans.com (external).
Because transcription requires Deepgram and Edge Functions to be reachable, your local app may be unable to start a new recording during an outage. Previously recorded sessions remain fully accessible on your Mac (playback, export, notes).
7. Disclaimers
UniTrans is provided "as is." We make no guarantee of perfect transcription or translation accuracy. Speech recognition and machine translation are inherently imperfect, especially on heavy accents, overlapping speakers, and domain jargon. You are responsible for reviewing output before relying on it for anything important.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, nor that the service will meet every specific requirement you might have.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from or related to UniTrans is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — lost profits, lost data, missed meetings, misheard words causing business decisions, or similar. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits; where they don't, our liability is limited to the minimum permitted.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify us against claims by third parties arising from your misuse of the service — most commonly, claims from people you recorded without their consent. You're responsible for checking local recording laws before hitting record.
10. Termination
You can terminate your account at any time from /app/account or by emailing support@uniflowtrans.com. Any refund of amounts you have paid is handled under our Refund Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these terms, after notice unless the breach poses immediate risk. In that case, any refund is handled under our Refund Policy and applicable law.
11. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll email registered users at least 14 days before the change takes effect, unless the change is favorable to you or legally required immediately. Continued use after the change means you accept the new terms.
12. Governing law & disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these terms will be submitted to the competent People's Court at the location of the company's registered office in Shanghai. Where required, the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your place of residence still apply.
